Solar trickle charger

Post by vet111s » Tue May 29, 2007 8:59 pm

Hey guys. Needing to leave the Lotus at home for a couple of weeks :(
Really can't be bothered with the hassle of a flat battery and was going to get a solar trickle charger. as far as I can gather the lighter is not live when the ignition is off and therefore I can't use that. Anyone hammed together a system that doesn't required leaving the window open to route the cables directly to the battery?
(a garage is not available and therefore not an option)

Cheers in advance of your nuggets of genius!

Depends on the age of your car.

Both my S1's are live, but not sure what VIN number that it changed on.

One of the electric egg heads will tell you how to wire it for ign off.
