Wiper Arm Broke Off

Post by rawsco » Thu Jul 09, 2015 12:56 pm

OK So the first bit fell off my S2 Exige...

The wiper arm broke just after the mount to the spindle... is it just a straight up, unbolt the old stump, apply blue threadlock and bolt on the new arm? Will the unbolting it result in the wiper being off centre as a result of it getting twisted or could it damage the mechanism?

Cheers,

Ross

Pretty simple swap I believe, Ross.

I did mine years ago so if I can manage it...!

Wiper Arm Broke Off

Post by Ferg » Thu Jul 09, 2015 7:23 pm

Just fitted an S2 one on mine at the weekend. Simplest way is to put a little bit of tape on the windscreen where the blade sat (or you want it to sit) so it's easy to line up while your putting the new one on. Then yes, it's a simple unbolt and swap over. :-)

I had mine off to bend it straight at the end so that my flat blade wiper would actually touch the glass in the middle. Didn't use tape but just guessed and it seems ok now. :)
