Temperature Sender Issues??

Post by les » Fri Jun 26, 2015 11:09 am

Started bleeding the coolant after the radiator/jenvey installation and noticed that there is a discrepancy between the ECU coolant temp and stack display. They are out by 10 degrees (Stack = ECU + 10). When the stack temp senderfails, does it ever over read the values?? I always thought that the Stack sender (blue) was more prone to issues but it under read when failing. ECU temps are sutting around 82 - 90 while bleeding and since I have the 82 degree PRRT thermostat I'm thinking that ECU temp is correct. Any thoughts or should I just replace both senders to be on the safe side?

Just replace. They are cheap and easy to do in situe. Good to have confidence in the displayed temp. :-)

cheers Ferg, the brown sensor was replaced 18 months ago (2000 miles) but I've ordered up both from Rimmer Bros and they should arrive by Tuesday
