Guys,
As ever looking for some advice, I've (finally) finished the frontend overhaul and installation of the Jenvey D2HTB's. I'm slightly worried about the current map being lean while travelling down to Emerald for the remapping session. Does anyone have any suggestions or tweaks that I can do to either my current map? I have spoken (via email) to Dave at Emerald didnt honestly get what he wanted me to do

. Dave's instructions were "tweak the map is to use the mspb function. Read up the map, alter the number and programme back down. A higher number is more fuel, lower is less. Try steps of five (5) at a time. You will find it under additional maps: injector scaling"
Cheers

With the number of maps that Emerald supply you with you should be able to get a very close match to your own configuration.
On the original N1 that is what I did, and although I had it mapped at Rickys and Dave's, there was no improvement on it.

Hi Les,
Have you got all the kit to hook up a laptop to the emerald?
You might not have to do anything really, if the car is setup to use closed loop fueling in conjunction with an O2 sensor. If not, then Injector scaling is def. the right way to do this for a quick and easy fix, as it will just add a % value to the calculated fuel load. Happy to help if you can get a laptop talking to the car, or if you're in the vicinity of the central belt.
Cheers

Steve,
Yeah still got an win95 laptop to connect to the Emerald, can I take you up on the offer at somepoint after this week if possible? I'm in Bishopton at the Erskine bridge. Just need to set the idle properly on the TB's, syncronometer ordered and should arrive by Friday.

The mspb is "milliseconds per bit" - it is a scaling factor for injector opening. Say it's 10mspb right now and you change it to 20. That will double the amount of fuel injected into the engine without changing a single other thing in the whole map. I would have thought adding 25% would be more than enough if you keep throttle sensible (no full throttle) and revs below 4K.
Cheers,
Robin

My concern with just scaling the injection time is if the emerald is running in closed loop mode, learning a long term fuel trim. This could result in being very lean at the top end if the negative % LTFT learned at low loads (where the jenvy's make little difference) is applied at the top end, where the jenvey's do make a difference.
If we can verify there is no closed loop fueling involved, or no long term fuel trim applied to open loop calculations, the mspb scaling will be fine though.
@Les - Can you pull the map off the car and post it up? It would be great to have a look at what's currently in the ECU.
Cheers,
Steve

Top stuff Les. I think I've got the Emerald software on my car laptop, so will have a peek when you upload the file.

Hi Les,
Sorry I havn't got back to you before now. I can do a safe map for you, bumping the fuel past 2000 RPM and cutting ignition advance a bit in the mid / top end. When are you off down south to get it mapped?
Cheers
