window of death...

Post by sendmyusername » Fri May 01, 2015 1:59 am

Out for a drive after the first lot of winter passed, wound down the window, and got the window of death -
Glass popped off the runner and for all intents and purposes looked like a sharks fin sticking out the door.
While that in itself may have looked cool, the air outside was freezing, so it was most certainly not advantageous.
I have since popped it back in the frame, and have done the setting up before, but i can't for the life of me remember what i used to lub the runners so they didn't stick or just become gummed up with gunk or have oily windows.
Can anyone recommend what to use ?
It's the runners that the window slides up and down on at the front and back of the door, not the mechanical bits.

Silicone spray?
If you're not living on the edge you're wasting too much space!
