This might be a Gay question

Post by Blaque » Mon Oct 16, 2006 9:29 am

I have some… um…er friends that need some… er…help. When they were new to the game, everything was tight :!: . It took a bit of tugging, a bit of stretching  , some huffing and puffing , to get it in the slot so to speak. Now that they have had it off quite a bit, everything has gone a bit…er…slack  .
Now when they are thrusting hard, pushing on, you can fit your hand up in between. Is there any safe way tighten it? Just how do you stop the soft top looking like a bin liner blowing in the wind as you’re driving along? As said, you can put a fist through the gap between the roof stays and the canvas at around 80 tut.

There's a bolt and a screw thread on each of the wires on both sides of the soft top, a bit like justing the cables on a mountain bike. So far the tops been pretty water tight (or so they tell me) should I just...I mean they just leave well alone and continue to driving around in the rain looking like a humpback whale?

As I said, I ask for a friend, not me you understand. Cos being a double hard Barsteward, MY Elise stays outside and is driven with the roof off at all times, AND I have my sleeves rolled up too.

Borrow a soft top off a hard top owner and send it via MMC to lotus for a refurb. My cables is tight as a knats chuff now.

I sent my soft top off for a refurb earlier in the year and it's the best value I've ever had out of Lotus. They did a great job and as Sanjoy said, it was only £40 inc postage. Takes about 2-3 weeks.
