Tyre balancing

Post by KevD » Fri May 30, 2014 7:54 pm

I got tyres fitted at MMC as part of a C service but feels like they aren't balanced correctly - lots of vibration at 75+ on motorways.

Sure they would check them and sort it but I don't really fancy dragging it back over to Edinburgh, can anyone recommend any good fitters Glasgow/Lanarkshire?

Thanks,

Kev

Could be something as simple as a wee weight falling off. I wouldn't worry where you take it any competent garage with a balancing machine will be able to check and sort it. I would be worrying more about getting the wheel off. Make sure the garage understands the jacking points and jacks it up properly to get wheels off, that's the important point, the balancing should be easy.

Had a hamilton garage ruin the tracking on missus's mini before when they were switching tyres and struggled to get one wheel off, so competent fitters aren't as common as you'd think!

RD Tyres in Springburn. They came highly recommended on Pistonheads and I was very happy with the service when they fitted my tyres.
