S2 knobs

Ive got the s2 linkage in my car but the sticks got no knob.
Anyone taken this appart? I got a 11r six speed one (knob) with reverse over to the left and forward same as the Audi. Only trouble is it doesn't fit, the collar doesn't fit inside the knob hole, even if it did the thread wrong too. The collar gets raised to allow you to select reverse so am I missing something?

I've got a spare S2 gear knob lying about somewhere. Will see if I can find it tomorrow when I am digging through my stuff for Scotty. Let you know.

Cheers mate, even if I can find out whats missing? I might do away with the reverse lockout cable then just go with Robins Araldite solution....

Thanks Ali, I have everything from the first link just doesnt seem to fit.

Ill get a look at it this weekend and hopefully take it further.
