Evora clutch issue

Post by flyingscot68 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 4:32 pm

The clutch (I reckon that's what it is anyway) on my Evora is rattling like a barrel of dishes, it's worse than a Ducati dry clutch!

When the car is ticking over it's developed a really loud rattle that goes away when the clutch is depressed (thought it might be the thrust bearing?)
Occasionally (three times to be exact) when I start it up there is no rattle, however this is accompanied by an inability to select any gear. As I'm trying to push it in to gear the engine starts to labour a little, just like it does if you try pushing it in to gear without depressing the clutch. Pedal feels no different though.
The solution is to switch off, put the car in to gear and re-start with my foot on the clutch, after that it's fine, but the rattle is back.

The car's going in to MMC on Saturday (for other work already arranged) and as it's under warranty I expect whatever the problem is will get fixed.

Just wondered if anyone else has had similar issues?

Cheers :D

The only issue I have had with my clutch was the position sensor. It was a right pain at junctions and roundabouts!

Have you had a look on TLF? There are plenty of Evora owners on there and I think there is a thread on 'vibrating clutches' aswell

I also had a problem with the clutch on my Evora and it was replaced under warranty.

However please do not let Brian's photo's concern you at all. Although it looks horrific having the entire rear taken apart the guys at MMC are well practiced and you can be rest assured that Craig will make sure any issues are resolved to a very high level of standard.

However until MMC have a look it may not be hat serious to warrant a new clutch.
