The blue hylomar sealant for the liner bottoms doesnt set solidly either, so isn't mega sensitive to movement during assembly.
Thanks Steve, I have a good bit of plastic pipe that will do the job perfectly.

Next subject to confuse is the sealant for bearing ladder to sump and bearing ladder to block, the rover manual recommends GUG705963GM, is this the best thing to use, or is there a better alternative?

Also for the crankshaft oil seal at the flywheel end GAC 8000 is recommended, is this the best thing, if so, does anybody know where to find the stuff.

And finally for the cylinder liners GGC 102 is recommended, is this the stuff to use and again, any recommendations where to get it from.

Thanks

Giles

First one is Loctite 574 (ignore what it says on the tube, it is the same stuff)
Second is Loctite 5910
and last is hylomar blue.

For the cam/crank ladders and sump I use some GM sealing compound. Does the same job as Loctite 574 at a fraction of the price and you can buy it from any Vauxhall dealer. I'll post the part no. in the morning.

Hylomar Blue for the liner shoulders and any good RTV will do for the crank seal.

Head has come back from Sabre heads, looks fantastic, hopefully things will start going back together very soon.

Not the best pic of the renovated head due to plastic packing and the flash, but you get the idea, hopefully the before and after pic are obvious 8)

With help from Stuart and his machines I now have wonderful looking top of the cylinder block, and a spot on stand proud for the cylinder liners, just waiting for one grooved main bearing that was on back order from Lotus, and hopefully I can start putting things together.
