Yup, heard they aren't the most reliable.

I've had this one for 5 years and not had any bother with it until now, worked fine in the Caterham which has a tiny motorbike battery. PLX seem very expensive in comparison and not self-calibrating, so need to get calibrated sensor from plx?

Are these "generic" narrowband sensors to be avoided?

You looking at the right product? The PLX I bought was barely more expensive than the LC1 including the wideband sensor. It's a standard Bosch sensor, so replacement is just buying another sensor - so the unit must have calibration info embedded. I've heard nothing about the unit being paired up at factory with a sensor, so they can't be matched. From memory, it's the same sensor as the LC1, but I'd swap it out as well for all it costs... That setup has been in the ex-shugmobile for years and is still going strong. Your experience may have been positive with the LC1, but out of all the years I've been into this, you are the only person I've heard saying positive things about it!

Not saying anything positive about the LC-1 currently, as it's not working. :D

PLX from that site seems a good bit cheaper than eBay and the like.

But do you need to either buy a guage or a £50 usb cable to see the results?

...but at the end of the day all i need is a narrowband sensor, despite the fact that i have 2 working Bosch wideband sensors and no controller.

Actually it has 2 analogue outs? one can simulate narrow band and other can connect to my data logger?

£120 including yet another sensor. tempted.

Couldn't get the LC-1 woking with any car, so ordered the PLX.

Hopefully be able to see if it is actually running rich or if the cat is shagged, or something else entirely.
