S1 Engine cover panel threads

Post by ian974 » Thu Jul 12, 2012 1:16 pm

Hi guys.

Hopefully just something simple. My car has the aluminium engine cover. The threads for a couple of the hinge bolts have been gone for a while and I should get around to sorting them!
Should this be simple enough to repair with a helicoil or something? Any idea what thread size they are?

Cheers,

Ian

Helicoil, pretty sure they are M8.

Just be careful as they aren't very deep.
