S2 Exige MIL light

Post by martins » Thu May 24, 2012 7:27 pm

S2 Exige 240. Was nearly out of fuel. Stuck in £30 of Tesco super unleaded. Drive away and notice the MIL light on. Been for a couple of short trips since then and it is still alight. Anyone in the Aberdeen area got a MIL reader or do I have to go to Edinburgh at the weekend.

Car is still under warranty so no big deal but would prefer to head into the hills.at the weekend rather than a reserved run down the A90...

5 starts, I believe, is what it takes to clear a minor light. If it clears, just get the codes read next time you're down, if not, have a look at it.

As shug says should just be several restarts. I'll be in abz at bod tomorrow up until aroun 2ish. I'll take the reader with me, just give me a call if you want to come round my work. 07825229519,

Craig. I stay in bod. What time do you get in to yr work in the AM and where do you work? Probably best to PM.

If it does not clear will take you up on your offer to plug in and see what the problem is.

What was the problem, according to the card reader?

Steve.

Its the bluetooth one from OBDKey that I've got but you need a PC/tablet/phone to go with it, plus I see you can pick up what looks like the same thing on Ebay for £11.50! If you just want to read the code and reset the light the likes of this on ebay will do the job.
Presumably its the same code as before but I'll be home later tonight if you want to use the reader again to check. What exhaust is on the car? If it's non standard (especially if the cats been removed) that could be all thats causing it, otherwise it could be one of the lambda probes.
