Tight gearbox 2009 exige

My mates 2009, 8000mile exige has a really tight gbox. To the point that it's borderline dangerous. Running into a corner in neutral because you can't find 4th from 5th isn't clever. Rest of the ratios are pretty stiff and slow also. Comparing it back to back with a 2008 Elise sc, 12000miles. the Elises box is light and accurate.

At 8k Im assuming the box itself is fine. so anything we can take a look at before hiking 200odd miles to Murray's? Cables, Linkages possibly?

Bleed the clutch first. That'd be my first port of call, then look at linkage adjustment etc.

Walshy's 111R was being used on an activity day, and had a particularly hamfisted driver select 1st instead of 3rd, and managed to bend part of the linkage. If you have a spare car to check it against, that might work, otherwise Murrays know best
