It's funny, the less I use the Elise, the more I too think the brakes are a bit "off" when I first climb in after a couple of weeks' layoff. Yet after a couple of corners, the sheer directness and modulability (is that a word?!) have blown away any fears, and of course after several more when things are nice and warm, the brakes are then actually in a different league :-)

Same goes for the steering now too. Feels heavy around town. Feels perfect on the open road :thumbsup

Oh dear. Think I am getting old. Next I'll be thinking about doing my IAM test.

Cheers mikie. I'm up beside buckie. A 2nd opinion would be good although I'm sure there's nothing physically wrong. Was out this morning and they feel a bit better than yesterday so may be getting there. Would be handy to compare at some point though :thumbsup

I've no issue with the rears locking in that situation. It's to be expected really. Overcooking the entry and turning in while still carrying a lot of brake will unweight the rear. Id imagine there's more than a few of these cars been chucked at the scenery doing just that(or panic lifting mid corner). I'll give it another going over and maybe replace the fluid anyway to be sure.

I think you are indeed probably right, so the control test is clear road, straight line, stamp on 'em :-) If the rears still go first, take action. Otherwise, go enjoy KH!!

You do not need a jack, there are plenty there. With the S_E pit crew there, fronts can be changed in 15 mins, i.e. red flag time, or cool down session, rears a bit longer.

I am taking down spares as I may have to change mine.

ps: does anybody have any used rear MMC pads available that they could bring down on standby, just incase mine do not last.

The elise is very under braked on the rear as standard, you should still lock a front in that situation, especially as your asking the front tyre to stop and turn.
