cigarette lighter?

Is the cigarette lighter is live when the ignition is off on a 54 plate S2 111s? I'm plugging in a solar charger from Maplin but I don't have a lighter to stick in it and check.

S1 is, not sure about the S2, but if not sell it and buy a real Elise.

You are in luck, no need to sell the s2
Just checked my 54 111s and power socket is live all the time.

Seems like it isn't live on mine and ended up with a flat battery, all sorted now though. I did also find out if you leave an elise parked facing up a steep hill you end up with a boot full of water when it rains a lot.

What's the deal for getting power if the cigarette lighter isn't live?

I bought a solar power charger from Maplin as well, but battery this morning is flat, so i guess mine isn't live when the ignition is off...

(i'm getting sick of having to use leads to jump start it)

I just put the solar panel on the dash and the wire out the window, into the boot, then straight onto the battery.
