Anyone fitted their own windscreen?
Anyone fitted their own windscreen?
I've got a replacement screen for the 340 but need it fitted. After removing the bead it just appears to be laid on with tiger seal. I guess fitting the new one will just be a case of position and amount of sealant?

Re: Anyone fitted their own windscreen?
I have done this albeit some years ago when 'bonded' windscreens were relatively new. You basically cut the old sealer with a sharp knife (you can get a right angled blade one)
and / or a cheesewire, then clean off the old sealer, squeeze on some new sealer and lay it in, usually there are spacers on the bottom edge to keep it at the right height. Stick the trim on with it if it has one, put some masking tape on it for a couple of hours and thats it...easy !
p.s. Used to have to remember to open the side windows when doing this or when you shut the doors just after fitting it, it could pop the screen out again ! Wont have to worry about this with the 340.
You may be best to get the correct sealer incase A; it either falls out or B: you have to remove it sometime in the future, Sure I still have the right angled knife too if you need it.

As above but just make sure you use the correct sealant not Tiger Seal

The guy I uses only charges me £50 to fit them. With 340R screens being so rare I wouldn't want to chance it. If you don't fit it correctly they have a habit of cracking.
