A winky smiley generally denotes humour or light-heartedness, perhaps even a good-natured poking of fun.
Whatever the history between you two fellas, better to only take things at face value from a public forum and avoid the public spats. Don't feed the troll etc.
If you have some differences to explore, please do it via email or PM or in a neutral pub - you are probably close enough to do that!
Paul - you can let your conversion do the talking when you are ready for the big reveal.

Thought i'd update this thread as it's been a while, we've had a lot do catch up on recently so final finishing off has been delayed, but here are the finished modified engine cover pics, we think it's turned out pretty well.
There is a very small list of jobs left to do now including modifying the undertrays and rear diffuser.

Colour match is extremely good, we were worried about that but it's turned out pretty spot on considering it's an edge to edge job.
The front panel that was scratched is also a perfect match.

Looks really good. Don't rip my head off, but I take it there's no drainage? Just looks like water will settle, so Kev will just need to keep on top of clearing the water out? A minor issue if that's the case, although if remodelling and glassing is as extensive as it has been, perhaps a thought for next time would be to run the line straighter from the rearmost vent, so that the water has less of a pool area? It's a difficult call though, how much you modify the styling for practicality's sake.
Still, does look factory though (especially as there is an area on the S1 rear clam where the water pools naturally as well - mine sits outside and forever has tide marks on it!)

Provided Kev plants it each morning (once engine warmed of course) the water will cascade nicely off into the car behind
A thin strip of black mesh in the valleys might be an interesting future mod or development, but that depends where the seal to the boot is underneath...one wants the water draining into the engine bay not p!ssing all over Kev's designer luggage in the boot!

Paul did ask me if I wanted some kind of drainage in the wells and to be honest I wasn't bothered about it. The car only sits out when I take it to work etc. Plus living in Aberdeenshire we dont tend to get much rain anyway

Cool. Sorted then. My Elise only has tide marks 'cos I'm as much of a non-polisher as tut...

dont mean to hijack the thread but reading about conversions with the 2grfe....which is the same engine as the evora. Woodsport claim an output of 325bhp after what i presume is porting of the cylinder head --air intake changes and exhaust changes possibly. Not sure but hope im right. Was wondering if anyone has done the mods on an evora. Those bhp figures are a massive improvement over the standard engine and i would imagine make a big difference to performance...just wondering why nobody has gone down this route

We see 325bhp (every 2gr we have done has been dyno'd) from all of them, all within 2 bhp of each other. No headwork, just good manifolds, a free flowing Y pipe merge on the exhaust and a custom intake.
Can't answer you as to why nobody else has done this, all we know is we see 50bhp more than Lotus do in the Evora, i suspect they have to keep things strangled for emissions etc.
We converted the car below to 3vz-fe a few years ago (stock 190bhp engine) and then later on to 2gr-fe, so both graphs are on the same sheet. As you can see we made gains on the stock 3vz-fe as well with our modifications.

Have questioned it before and it's warranty issues basically.
