replaced the wiper blade (kept arm) just a few weeks ago with a goodyear aeroblade jobbie for 6 quid fae Costco, absolutely immense performance and came with loads of different adaptors for different arms. mine is a hook type on the '07 elise btw.

it is also half the weight of the original

Ended up buying the replacement one from eliseparts. £45 all in for the one without the fancy schoosher bit. Quite dear but couldn't be bothered shopping around etc.

For the ultimate in Elise wipers, you should also fit the VAG '10A' (I think) Wiper relay.
This does 2 great things - firstly, 1 or 2 less wipes when you use the spray (so no more spray, wipe, wipe, smear, smear some more)
and secondly gives adjustable intermediate wipe - turn on then off, turn on again and it remembers the time delay and wipes.

I picked mine up on eBay for a couple of quid using the Skoda part number.

Hm. Cool. Even more so with a Skoda p/n, LOL.

I also find Rain-X is excellent too, removing the need to use the wiper as much in the first place :-)
