service and mot

Post by PrAzZz » Wed Jul 27, 2011 10:52 pm

Hi...

My car is due a service and mot. I heard Ali (sls) has got a new garage/setup. Has anyone been there?

I got a really good quote from him. Basically thinking I can save myself a bit of money by just getting Ali to do it, rather than going to main dealer. Are there any downsides in not getting the main dealer to do it? Will it look bad in the service history....

To my mind it won't affect resale value if you go to Ali as he's well known in scotland and well respected. However if you try to sell the car down south it might have an impact.......unlikely though.

It's becoming a tougher call now I think.

SLS are upping the game to provide stronger communications and a more organised approach from the heady early days ;-)

MMC have turned around considerably since Craig Moncrieff has been in charge, and offer a discount to SE members. Craig will know if you are one or not...he keeps a watchful eye upon the forum from afar I think!

In principle if it's purely down to funds, SLS is the route I guess. But MMC might just be worth the premium again...the choice, as Cilla says, is YOURS :-)

I don't think MMC are the only folk who do a S/E member discount?
