Elise S1 Buying Guide

Post by campbell » Mon Jul 18, 2011 12:58 pm

Quite a nice feature I found on Pistonheads.com:

Some minor inaccuracies but in all, a good intro to the now 15 year old original, and almost worth saving for posterity :-)

A good read.

Makes me miss mine :(

I still remember the first time I got in it to drive it away from Paul Matty's, everything is just perfectly positionned and weighted, no messing just go.
Plonk down into the seat, mildly uncomfortable but not too bad, steering is direct and to the point and everything else is just perfectly balanced.

I definately lost the loving feeling for mine after 5 years, but I miss the going for a blatt I used to do on occasions.
The Esprit doesn't do it as well, as it's hard work to muscle around B roads where its width makes it a liability!

If you are reading this and are thinking about one as a weekend road toy a bog standard 118 bhp S1, raw and crude as it is, is the way to go :thumbsup
