Standard dissimilar metal corrosion stuff.
I don't understadn why they think stainless and ali together don't corrode though...
A lashing of duralac would stop it happening.

It looks like it just needs a spreader plate bonded in over the damage, over the top and over the other side
I wouldn't weld it'll be impossible to not knacker the rest of the glue.

I would have thought glueing a plate and riviting the corners as per the chassis construction would work.
