I bought this a couple of yrs ago, a cheap Chinese thing, which includes reading basic live data. Its works great for the price, I paid a bit more than this one.

Bought an even cheaper job with no real time date off e-bay just make sure you have the right protocols on it to read your car.

I've got the bluetooth version of this and its been pretty good. Software runs on either a laptop, PDA, or phone. Pretty good if you want to do more than just read the codes, but total waste of money for just reading codes and resetting the MIL light.
