Extension of the existing. You will be able to see the shape of the fuel pump from above, so you are just cutting an oval out to clear the side pipes.

You can either cut a piece out, or cut a flap and fold it back over again. I then just covered it with a piece of gaffa tape. You can not see it anyway as the net covers it.

Anyone got a picture of the fuel pump, suspect those snapped fittings may be the top of the tank, away out to investigate, bollocks

As an aside are all pumps equal, where's cheapest supply? I have a swirl pot and second pump anyway.

Yvo does an uprated standard pump that is good for the N/A Honda but not the S/C at £220.

However the standard one is also fine for N/A as in N1. For N3 though I had to use an uprated one that I got from Gaz at £280 that is good for 400hp, and I also do not have the link-up kits secondary pump and swirl pot.

Tut,

That panel with the pump access hole on is very much "part of the chassis" and I really wouldn't recommend cutting it.

Its not a difficult job dropping the tank out of the bottom so I can't see the point in hacking the chassis to bits to save an hour.

As there is already an access hole cut in it Dan, is it going to make a difference enlarging it a bit?

I'd always thought that if they wanted to make the access hole big enough to get the pump out, they would have - it's the biggest circle they can fit in there without running too close to the folds (and the strength). There must be a reason it is the size it is - doesnt' matter how you do it, if you take out material, you weaken a structure (although in this case the difference will be tiny, I give you that)

I draw the line at hacking at the chassis members (it is a chassis crossmember you're cutting here)
