Recommendations for bodywork repairs in Aberdeen

Post by Davie » Fri Apr 22, 2011 8:22 am

My exige is in need of someattention, repairs to the rear clam and paintwork, can anyone recommend who to use in the Aberdeen area. I'm lookinhg for a top notch job so willing to pay a little extra. I have used Kinghorn previously for my other car but not sure how they are with Lotus.
:cheers

The place of choice up here seems to be Castlepark Autobody at Ellon.I've not heard great reports about Kinghorn with Loti

My Elise S1 was hit from the side last year and had cracks over front and rear wheel on lhs. Kinghorn repaired the front and rear clams and did a really great job of the bodywork. I'll post pics if i can manage to reduce them enough.

However, they did forget to reconnect the speedo pickup, managed to refit my headlight covers without cleaning under them and didn't bother replacing the stone-chip protection in front of the rear wheel, or the Lotus decal at the rear. So overall I was happy with the glassfibre repair and paintwork, but not about the rest.

They did also say that S1 glassfibre is much easier to repair and S2's are a nightmare.

Similar experience..... the repairs they did to my Exige in April 2009 were not too bad but they never bothered to remove the clams which they should have therefore some bits weren't painted very well. Then to top it all off - the guy blatently lied to me about replacing the front grill. :x Seemed to do the main part of the job and not worry about the finer details. Wouldn't hurry back there.
