Exige s upgrade

Post by Mikem7709 » Sat Apr 16, 2011 6:30 am

Well after spending the last 12mths in a Z4M and being determined not to spend money on mods, I managed 6 weeks in the Exige.

Got it back home yesterday with CN's 260 conversion, TRD airbox, Forge I/C, engine mount inserts and stage 3 exhaust. The difference is amazing but by god the exhaust is loud  - if anybody is on the fence with the 260 upgrade, just do it. I spoke to 2 other main dealers who were prepared to do it but neither had done one before or inspired enough confidence for me to take the plunge.

The service at CN's is spot on, they've done over 40 of these now, have stuff like the Forge I/C's in stock, courtesy cars for the 2 days it takes and also do their own bodywork/paint on site so are offering stuff like the 2010 rear wing retrofit, performance pack roof upgrade etc.

Will post a performance graph later showing the difference from my STD car.

graph below.

Std car Vs upgrade car, times could be improved slightly for both but I was quite gentle on launching (consistent both times if you look at the 60` times, tho so a fair comparison).

Just over 2s quicker 0-110, just over 1s quicker 60-100 and 1.3s 0-100, pretty sure the gap would continue getting bigger and bigger as my std car felt pretty gutless above 100. :thumbsup

I had a quote from MMC as well.

CN's will do the basic 260 upgrade at £1975 fitted incl VAT (this includes new injectors, new fuel pump and new ECU) obviously you can then add whatever you want to it from there.

Mighty.

What happens about the heatsoak which affects S/C Exiges on track? Any of the CN package tackle that issue?

I've had the bigger Forge I/C fitted as well and cut out the letterbox which should help things but TBH even the factory Cup 260 and RGB's still use the standard size one. If it proves to be an issue, I'll think about switching to a water/air set up (I had a water/air set up on my supercharged M3) but don't think it'll be necessary.
