Bodyshop recommendations ?

Post by Mikem7709 » Sun Mar 13, 2011 8:44 am

I noticed some small spider web cracks in my gelcoat yesterday (got the car from a main dealer 1 week ago). Dealer has agreed to sort it but is 340miles away so he's asked me to get a local bodyshop to do an estimate.

Any recommendations near South Lanarkshire ?? Dealer is ringing Murry's tomorrow to see who they use but would prefer some 1st hand experience.

Murrays use/ recommend Willowbrae Coachworks.

Steve Walker (Bathgate?) also has good feedback.

Thanks, have just sent an estimate form and some pics to Steve Walker, where abouts are Willowbrae ?

These are the cracks. Can`t beleive I didn`t see them when picking the car up but in fairness I had my wife staring at it for 10mins and she couldn`t see them without me pointing them out, you can`t see them from above because of the angle of the bodywork there.

Have dropped it at Steve's this morning. Dealer is picking up the tab, thankfully and I should get it back next Sat.

Does he still have that nice VX220 in a similar colour to your Exige?

Another thumbs up for Steve Walker guys, ready on time and in perfect condition. Nice to know there's somewhere very good for a front end freshen up when needed. :thumbsup

Booked in at Chris Neil on Thurs for a power upgrade and bigger intercooler. :blackeye

Not what he once was IMHO. Sacked an amazing painter I know for being too pernickety.
Wanted the painters to rush the prep work then polish for a finish.

My mate took his Subaru there recently and the finish was average at best.
