Heater stuck on hot -

Post by LotusLee » Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:50 pm

Just had the car out for a run but the heater is stuck on hot no matter where you turn the dial, it still blows out on all speeds. Is it going to be a clam-off to fix it? I have been parking the car outside since I got it and had heard this might cause problems with the heater but was hoping it would hang on till the garage is built in the next month or two  any ideas of what it might cost for parts etc will be helpful. cheers Lee

Mine was booked in to get it sorted then just started working, suns like the flap can jam up but may free itself off...

Hope you get it sorted..

Cheers, I'll take a look on Sunday and see if I can get a hand down through the service panel to check the flap is working.

Took the access panels off today and no way could you get a hand down there, so I took it for a wee run instead and it's working fine again :D I quite fancy having a go at removing the clam at some point but the heater removal looks a right pain

Keep me posted if it goes again... curious whether to expect it to come back!

I know what you mean, fingers crossed. I think even if it is fine from now on it would still be worth replacing the heater ressistor pack and actuator with the newer revised ones. Have you had a look at the pictures of what happens to the pre '07 ressistors on the Seloc techWiki ?

My resistor pack has been changed...think it's just the flap sticking...

P.s - is anyone else as immature as me and finds "flap inside the clam funny"? ;-)
