Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Morning all,
I'm in the market for a new rear toe-link & brace kit (I have the central 'brace' bar setup), and had previously ordered (and been told they had sent) a Forge motorsport version, however this appears to have been discontinued and no-one has stock.
Am looking for thoughts on replacing with the OEM kit or going aftermarket. I'm not sure I see value in £700 of Nitron kit for example, but have come across a couple of others at ~£300-400.
(i) Is it worth around £100 more for these vs OEM
(ii) Are the central bolting points on the brace bar desireable/worth extra?
Possibly quite a subjective pair of questions, but keen to hear thoughts.
Cheers
Mark

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Contact Olly at Phoeinx Motorsport in Church near Blackburn, their brace kit is impressively engineered and substantial.

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Thanks for the recommendation Rich - gave them a call and they sound top notch!!
Ended up talking myself into going down to see them (have family in Wigan) for a 'hands-on' explanation.
I like these proper companies
Cheers

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit

It'll take longer than you expect as you'll want to poke about the racecars that are in various states of dissassembly in the workshop!
Oh and don't worry abou the industrial estate you have to drive into - it looks rough as a badger's arse round there
Reminds me I need to get the Esprit booked in there for a geo ( and I still owe them £20

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
i have one of these in my garage. I had to remove it as it wasn't in the regs for racing
Nice piece of kit but a lot of money.

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Collected the toe-link kit from Olly and co today; what a great guy/bunch. Olly even offered to be available on Sunday for a phonecall in case of any problems with fitting.
And he chucked in a 'lucky' towing eye gratis. Will be using them again, despite the distance.
Hopefully be back on the black stuff this time next week, assuming I resolve the complexities of moving the car around with no MOT.
Cheers

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
I assume they are the hounds and not the mechanics
Just saw the big white one in the kennel but it (he?) wasn't interested in anything other than dozing.
And I heard something once about what you should do with sleeping dogs....
I assuke all the tennis balls sitting on the ultima were for them?

Re: Toe-link / chassis brace kit
Harvey is the English bull terrier, Greg is the mechanic with the pipe...
Harvey usually likes to chew tyres and always likes to be tickled - not sure about Greg!
