S2 downpipe blowing

Post by TophaTron » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:46 am

Hi,

I had a suspicion that my exhaust was blowing, but couldn't decide as the Lotus Sport exhaust was pretty noisy anyway. I finally got the undertray off to check it out and have discovered that it is indeed blowing at the flexi pipe that goes from the manifold to the backbox.

I had a look at this pipe http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show ... -downpipe/ which looks like it should do the job.

Does anyone know if the Lotus Sport exhaust is just a backbox that should work with this, or do I need a special downpipe?

Can anyone suggest any other parts sites that might be worth checking out?

Cheers,
Chris

The downpipe should just connect to the cat section in the normal way, which connects to the sports backbox. It's only if it's a full system you've installed that it would be different - although I think most of those still keep the standard spacing and split for the backbox anyway, although not the cat.

In short, that product will work fine for your setup (as long as you remember to tick the S2 box :) )
