S2 No indicators/hazards after hibernation

Post by Arch » Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:33 am

Looking for a wee bit of assistance here folks.
I managed to get my car out of hibernation yesterday following a 7 week sleep.
I tried to start it and not surprisingly battery was low. Gave it a quick charge and it started up.
(for the first minute or so it rev'd up and down between 1k and 2k until it warmed up, is this normal?)
Following an hour of looking for the steering wheel, I had put it in a "safe" whilst on holiday  I got out in the car and it ran no problem.
Fault I now have is that I have no indicators or hazards. From a quick search I can see that they are on separate fuses.
Any ideas on likely causes? Where is the flasher unit hidden?

The revving is normal when the battery voltage is low and/or the battery has been flat. You might also find it idles/runs a bit rough for the first few miles while it sorts out the fine trim which it will have lost if the voltage was low enough or you disconnected the battery.

I seem to remember the indicator flasher unit is part of the hazard warning switch ... is it not listed in your owners manual?

Cheers,
Robin

Robin,
Thanks for your reassurance on the idle.
My owners manual is not with me/car at the moment.
I will go and have a look in a bit.
Regards

Sorted folks.
I took the panel off with the hazard/light switches.
Removed and reconnected the hazard wiring plug and everything is working again.
Cheers

thats a funny one - my s2 did that after being off the road for a ferw months - hazards on/off a few times sorted it - allways wondered why it would do that every time i left it sitting for more than a couple of days!
