Bushes/Shims

Post by tuscan_thunder » Tue Jan 18, 2011 2:33 pm

Quick one: reassembling all the suspension.

Have the Erlatron bush set from Eliseparts and all the associated bits.

On the front, when bush is in place and the sleeve is down the centre of it, when castor shims/washers are added, it appears that the load is being taken by the bush itself not the sleeve, putting a lot of strain onto the bush.

Does this seem right?

Yes if you were to clamp the bush it wouldn't rotate freely, clearance should be negligable.

That's what I thought, just seems to be that the sleeve doesn't take load, and puts strain onto the bush. Which would would think also introduces play.

Spoke to EliseParts and seems it's right enough.
