Headlights
Are S1 headlights the same as on any other car? I should really replace both of mine (bodies are corroding) but the genuine ones from the usual outlets seem a wee bit dear.
Wondered if they were a generic part or the same as from something else - anybody know?
cheers

Re: Headlights
Iirc they are Renault numbers should be something in the archives. Opportunity to put eBay Hids in? Reckon you might need new brackets too.

Re: Headlights
Had a search but couldn't get anything to come up on here: will search again.
They look like Renault 4 headlights to me though.
The brackets and light bodies (like most of the steel parts on the car) are shot to bits.

From a previous thread when I replaced mine
Original thread can be found HEREStewart wrote: I decided to buy new lamps anyway and will now fit them at a later date. Thanks to Haggis Catcher for the tip. I bought them form D & A Motor Factors (Dundee) Ltd for £24 + VAT each. Miles cheaper than anywhere I could find on t'internet. They are boxed and sold as Valeo (P.N. 460118) but when I took them out of the box they are branded as Cibie. They look identical to the one that are in at the moment.

Re: Headlights
You'll struggle to find them anywhere for less than £45+VAT now.
Valeo are the only people who make them and they put the prices up a couple of years ago after re-tooling to continue production.

Re: Headlights
Tell me about it the Esprit has 4 of them
As above they are Valeo only and like hens teeth.
I ended up calling loads of places and got nowhere, there was (6 months ago) also a shortage of them too which didn't help...
They are 6" units (Like Renault 4s) but the rest of the world uses 5 3/4" units instead.
I fitted 5 3/4" units, £30 for all 4, but the quality isn't great... Just bonded them in...

Re: Headlights
I managed to get hold of a new Valeo a year ago as a replacement for one of N1's when she goes back on the road.
