Supercharger Nose Pulley Puller

Post by Fluoxetine » Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:35 pm

What are the people upgrading using to remove their nose pulley?

I've seen various options, from an angle grinder ( ), to a basic set of pullers...To a fancy tool specifically designed to remove the pulley without bending it - But costing £150+, and perhaps specific to each model of charger?

Interested myself Ross as I was contemplating fitting a 3.2" one.

Standard 2 or 3 leg bearing puller.

Are you trying to do it in-situ?

Not me Dan; my charger is sitting on a bench - But I've heard rumours that the nose pulley buckles with a 2 / 3 leg puller (M45....It's not for an Elise / Exige).

I'm not looking to keep it for future use - But don't want to damage the shaft in the removal process! :)

I've never had a problem with alloy pulleys on the MP62. The MP45 won't be much different.

You hear all sorts on the internet.

Ah, ta, but it was always for the bin - I've a teeny weenie one to bolt on in its place...

(My brother in-law got it off - He's a truck mechanic and has access to some fairly decent tools to attack it with at work... ;) )
