Spring compressors

Post by fudnie » Sat Jul 24, 2010 3:02 pm

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a set of spring compressors that will fit the stupid little springs on the Elise. The hooks on my set don't even go in between the coils!

If you've got the damper off I would take it along to Machine Mart and see if they have anything that fits.

I've done it before with the set in my garage but it wasn't fun!

I was told that motorbike spring compressors are required. Don't know if that is correct.

When I was doing mine I went round a few motorbike places, but none had anything they thought would fit.

Ended up asking in National Tyres - the guy wasn't sure about the size but tried it and was able to do them.
