I've bled brakes before using EZ bleed so whats so difficult with the Elise? Surely there isnt any special tools needed?

It's the front calipers. If you don't take them off and invert for a couple of bleeds, air can be trapped in the link pipe on them. Yes, this is even with an EZbleed.
Not required according to the motorsport guys at the factory. Still it can't hurt

Sorry but Ballcocks.
Sorry but having fecked up one brake bleed and changed my hoses over myself, there is no way to get the air out of the inner pison as it just sits there and the link pipe is at the bottom.
If you are just changing the fluid it's fine but if you even suspect air in the calipers then do it. Loads of air came out of mine when I did it. Bleeding hours of fun....

I use an EZ Bleed most of the time and its a great bit of kit but I find when replacing hoses I still have to do it the old fashioned way to get the last of the air out.
Whilst the EZ Bleed is on, turn claipers upside down and back over but make sure you have the pistons pushed right back in too.
Its not rocket science, just a pain in the arse.
I have overcome this problem on my car (and my Se7en which runs Elise calipers) by drilling and tapping the back of the caliper for the line and using two bleed nipples. Like how they should have been in the first place.
