Reputable garage in the south west?

My car is due a stamp, I'd like the geo set-up and also a quote for fitting a set of springs and an engine mount. Does anyone know of anywhere with a good reputation in the west coast?

When I stayed in Renfrewshire I used a guy in Ardrossan called Henry Roy. A few west coasters used him for fixing their cars. He works out of a farm so its a similar set up to Ali at SLS. Always very reasonable. I seem to have 4 numbers for him in my phone so one of these should work:

The fact he works from home, would this mean I wouldn't get a stamp in the service manual, or is he a registered mechanic?
