Another thing to factor in is that using sticky tyres also puts more load on the wheel bearings. On S1 hubs the bearings press into the hub upright (which is usually made of aluminium). Stickier tyres means more wheel bearing changes (ask Mckeann) and the more you change the bearings the faster they will fail which means you'll eventually have to replace the hubs(which is expensive).

In my opinion in most cases, unless you are a racer/sprinter/hill climber, with an S1 with K power you only need road tyres (T1R/Ecsta/Neova etc. but not AO48/888). If you've got a Honda then you'll need drive shafts as well as toe-links, hubs and bearings   .

Yep.. no problems so far..

If I was tracking it a lot I have no doubt wheel bearings would be an issue. When your doing sprints, on tyres that don't ever properly get up to temperature and the corner speed isn't as high as full size race tracks. You don't tend to load the car up as much for as long. Not been a problem so far. Will wait and see how I get on this year with the Khumo V70's and the big diffuser.

I have looked at changing to S2 hubs but not cost effective if you are sticking to normal S1 wheel sizes as you have to change wheels as well. If I do go to 15" all round with AVON ACB10's (even more grip) then going to the S2 hub becomes viable as I would be getting wheels machined anyway for that option.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
