new replacement windscreen

Post by r055 » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:31 am

does the clam need to come off, loosened or not?

had an argument with Auto Windscreens yesterday telling them that the clam had to be loosened, but the guy was adamant that he was the expert and has never needed to loosen the clamp

Impossible to replace without loosening the clam. Most people want it removed completely.

The Autoglass in Possil did mine on the Elise themselves - loosened clam, fitted, then re-attached clam. Had to leave it with them in the workshop for a couple of days.
