FAO Ali @ SLS - What oil did you use on my car?

Post by a4drk » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:20 am

Or this question to anyone else who uses Ali.....

As you may or may not know - I sold the Elise S2 to a guy from Holland.
He's asked me what oil that was in the car.
All I know is that Ali said it was Silkolene.
Does anyone know if its Fully or semi synthetic?
and what the viscosity is ?

Much appreciated

Cheers
David

It should have been a good fully Synthetic oil, Silkolene and Mobil are up there. Viscosity for the road a W40, for track work as well a 15W50.

Not sure but I think he went through a mobil phase a while back. I think Semi synthetic is actually what's recomended by Lotus?

You would be better to phone and ask him, I don't think he reads the forum much.

Lotus recommend Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W/50 or Castrol RS 10W/50 both fully synthetic.

It was Silkolene 15w50 he was using when he did mine, although that was a while ago.
