No reverse gear...

Post by donnac » Sat May 16, 2009 8:42 pm

As some know i recently lost reverse gear so before i resort to calling the AA out a friend is going to take a look at it for me to see if it just needs adjusted/aligned.

He has asked be if there is a workshop manual for the Elise or any tips ie should it be in a certain gear to align, also is it cable or not.... or something like that

Just wondered if anyone can help, im hopefully taking it round tomorrow if the weather holds out

I'll send you a PM to a pdf version of the S1 service manual, will take another 10 minutes to upload, then I'll send the link, download it and save a copy !

I expect it's probably not a gearbox fault, but that needs verified . . . more than likely a selector/cable issue . . .

Tis cable Donna, two of them, not that difficult to adjust but you have to take the undertray off and get underneath the car.

There's a small 8mm nut in the gear stick housing that adjusts the travel - adjust it until all's well
Elise S1 B&C 140 - long time ago now
