Re: Any experienece with fitting HID kits?
After a run back from Loch Carron I found my self chasing the car in front to see where I was going, not good. Ordered a pair of knock off Chinese HIDS the same night. £30 so if they pop I have spent prob the same as 1.5 * a set of normal H4 bulbs.
Sourced from here.
In the pack you get

Fitting them to the 340 was a total and utter barsteward. So bad I only fitted one tonight. Could not be bothered taking off the wheel cover (?) and the wheel to get good access so lay on the ground swear for ~2 hours. Biggest issue was the backing clip for the bulb pinged off and the bottom hinge bit would not hinge anymore and would only brace. Could have tried bending it to hold it but we know how that would have ended up.
The Chinese seller was kind enough to drop in a set of cheap led side lights which would have been nice to fit if I could get the old feckers out. Fark me it serious looks like a clam off to get at them, got a hand to them but could not work out how to get at them.
Anyways got the bulb in, retainer clasp on and ballast secured. Problem is I think that they alignment is WAAAAAY off.
What height should I be looking for the concentrated beam to be at on the wall form X feet ?
Drivers side is the HID.

Looking at the way the tarmac is lit up I think it is pointing down too

And pretty crossed eyed.

Got a hand to the adjustment screws and they are a fcker and half not the S1 wing nuts I was hoping for. I think it will be a full night adjusting them.
For those still not sure here are the links that pointed me in the right direction.
