how to hard wire a snooper?

hi, i want to hard wire my radar detector into my elise. the wire running across the dash and into the lightersocket is not the look i'm after at all so want to tidy it up a bit.

waht's the best bet for wires to splice into? needs to be fused so the snooper doesn't blow up or short out and i want it to switch off when the cars not in use - don't want to drain the battery.

would the radio power source do? as i'll be in about that in a day or two anyway while fitting a new stereo

options please....

If you hhard wire it to the radio or ignition accessory lead then it will come on with the ignition. Stick an in line fuse on the wire and you should be ok.
