Coolant

Post by GregR » Thu Mar 30, 2006 10:51 am

Down to the 'min' marker now. Is it a case of adding more stuff on top? If so, does it have to be exactly the same brand/type? Do I need a whole coolant system flush?

Or really, should I mosey over to Falkland and get an A service? It has been 4k and around a year since the last one....

Cheers,

Greg

Greg,

The Min marker is the 'okay' marker. It should sit on min when cold, around max when hot. If the levels are above this - it will expel water until it's at it's preferred level.

Some cars level out under min.... As long as it's static, leave it,

If it's been a year since your last service, get it done.

Well, a year since the last service stamp. I didn't get the car until Sept last year, so I presume ( )a service of sorts would have been carried out before the car was taken off the forecourt...

Assume nothing, get it serviced.
No stamp = no service (as far as you can tell) :(

I agree with Simon, no stamp= no service.

When I got mine last August, salesman (non Lotus dealer) promised full service etc before collection. I asked on collection if service had been done etc, told yes.

Got home checked service book, no stamp. Contacted dealers, spoke to service manager, no service had been done.

Booked it in for them to service and told all that I wanted doing e.g brake fluid change and coolant change + usual oil and filters etc.

:o
