Thanks Simon,

They said they might have time to check the Geo after the new anti-roll bushes are fitted too, which Iam hoping will solve the poor handling I am experiencing just now.

I am a bit worried about the brakes too, but don't think they will have time to check them as well on Sat, might ask tho :D

Probabaly get it back in for a Service shortly after that, depending on price as I am skint & xmas is coming.

It has the red clutch hose, which I would like changed to the stainless steel, but as I am working on a budget will probably have to wait a bit for this.

Hopefully I'll have it ready for knockhill soon after that

Cheers,
Pete

For what its worth, I'd go with Ali. he's worked on Lotus cars for 11 years+ and if your car has ever been serviced by Murrays, he'll have done it!

I've used Falkland, but for changing bushes etc, I'd say someone used to doing it day in day out would be better - these are specialised little cars you know ;)

Also - IIRC Mckeann had 'issues' with Falkland re-doing his geo without him asking ..

Hi Gregr,

Appreciate the concern, I believe Ali is very good, and is highly recommended. I may ask Ali to do some work in the future.

I have booked in with Falkland because they too are well recommended and are quite close to me in Fife.

I'll let you know how I get on after Sat tho.

Cheers,
Pete :)

Hey Guys,

I finally got the new anti-roll bushes fitted, the old ones were totally fk'd, worst Lee had ever seen apparently, so this should make a marked improvement in the handling...apart from the brakes, & other bits to get done, etc...I discovered the brakes are standard & not MMC, so will need to change these asap, & won't be on the track or hardly on the road until sorted. :(

Oh, BTW, my experience @ Fakland was very good, they are extremely well fitted out, Garage was spotless & looked very well organised. I felt confident they know Elises very well, what they were doing, & not too pricey either. I will be going back. :D

One thing tho, (not a moan but observation), was that the screws holding the undertray, which gives access to the anti-roll bushes, required some work...Some required breaking off as they were stuck & head was burred. And even tho this was necesary the undertray was fitted back securely, with copperease on screws left for future work.

I wonder though if the screws can been drilled out & a new thread tapped..? Any experience of this guys..?

Anyway, next up is brakes, then next year a service after the winter, & perhaps the suspension & clutch cable.

I wonder how much work it is to swap all brake discs, pads, & hoses to stainless. Might ask for a quote... :?

Cheers,
Pete
