Any information on this 2016 Elise 1.6?

Hi all,

The friendly folk on the /lotus subreddit recommended I reach out regarding a 2016 Lotus Elise 1.6 that I am looking to buy. The plate appears to be first registered in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I test drove the car this week and it was brilliant. I am coming from the world of MX5 and the car was a different beast.

The car is listed as "2016 16 USED LOTUS ELISE 1.6 CR with Optional: Stage 2 Lotus Sports Exhaust, Comfort Pack, Air Conditioning, Black Pack, Hardtop and Soft Top Roof".

My concern is the car itself does not have any "CR" related decals, nor does it have the matching gear box tunnel paint to the exterior colour or the colour matched seats. So is it a CR? Is there any other way to tell?

If anyone has any information on this car it would be greatly appreciated: https://www.ktgreen.co.uk/used-lotus-el ... re-6885235

Thanks all!

For reasons unknown a lot of the 1.6s built about the same as CRs seem to show as CRs in online spec tools. Wouldn't be concerned.

Thanks for the clarification. Are the CRs seen as more desirable than the base 1.6?

Seem to recall lots of the 1.6 models were CR. To help sell them

Nice upgrade from an MX-5. Enjoy!

CR was lighter and a smidge cheaper originally. Not sure if that would make it more desirable? I guess CR is a bit more of a pure driving experience but less usable (with no aircon or stereo etc.).

Aircon is more bother than it’s worth.

That's definitely not a club racer but looks a nice example of a standard car.... did you buy it?
