Allow me to introduce myself

Hi there,
I am Victor Asselberghs a Dutchy (born and raised in Venlo The Netherlands) and drive an original 1997 Elise S1 with zero modifications, so original. I have been to Scotland in the past for business and pleasure (amongst which was attending a Scottish Wedding in Inverness which was a very nice experience) and I will be in a groups of 5 Lotus cars touring Scotland in June. This is why I wanted to post on Scottish Elises to organise a Pubmeet somewhere, so check out the forum on Events for my announcement and request.
Thanks!

Tell us where you will be going in Scotland, and we could meet up for a run, and pub meet, depending on where you are staying.
I am in Aberdeen, and we have some great roads up here.
Steve.

Dear Steve,
that is EXACTLY the response I was looking for!! Thanks

We are all around the place between June 9 and 15. But I am tasked with trying to pull a crowd somewhere together on June 10, anywhere around the County of Fife. My idea is to have a lunch meet at some Pub with other Local Lotus drivers and follow anyone with a good suggestion afterwards for some nice roads.
I am hardly a forum person, so should I post this idea somewhere else on the forum?

Welcome to Scottish_Elises Victor, we have a few Dutch friends on here. Good taste in Elises, they do not get better than a ' 97 Azure Blue S1, the twin of the recently deceased N1 TUT.
Do you know Bob van M or Yvo by chance, both good friends, he comes over most years with a group of eight and they have stayed with me a couple of times overnight and I have joined up with them to show them some of our best roads.
Post up when you are planning to come over and we will plan to meet up.

ps:- reference the above post, I live near Aberdeen so would not make it down to Fife, but let me know your route and we will take it from there.

Dear Tut,
Do I know Bob???? The chances of anyone in The Netherlands with a Lotus not knowing Bob is as small as Bahar's understanding of what the real Lotus Driver wants.... Bob's my oracle! He helps me with everything, he is a great guy. He mentioned you when I talked with him about touring Scotland. Unfortunately I have never been able to join his Cloggy Bashes...

I will make a posting on this forum where the activities are posted. Any initiative is welcome! Cheers!

to SE!
You will find loads of good advice on here as to which roads are best, and where to stay.
Are you touring all over Scotland? West coast and Northern areas are a must!

You'll fit right in here!
Post up a rough itinerary and I'm sure some people will make it for a meet.
Why Fife? (I live here) but few miles more gets you into some of our best scenery, well worth driving a little bit further for!
Cheers, Peter

Well we will be all over Scotland up to and including the (former) Isle of Skye. But I am tasked to "fill" June 10. Any suggestions for a Pub with a big parking lot and what roads to drive? Our departure is getting closer and I need to have something for the 10th. Suggestions?
Thanks!!!

are you perhaps coming to Scotland as part of Belgian / Dutch group? I've been speaking to a Belgian Lotus owner who's coming with up to Scotland around the same time with four or five other guys.. He's called Kris Vinckier.. It could be coincidence of course. I met him at a Belgian lotus meeting near Ypres in April.

Victor, I bought The Hoff's LHD Belgian S1 five years ago complete with Honda conversion, now S/C, and if the speedo worked, around 250,000 on the clock.

I did wonder.. Because I advised Kris to contact the guys on here as they're a helpful bunch of people.
Small world.. To be honest there are many more on here who can help you out with advice on where to stay in Fife. I live in the southwest over 2hours away from Fife. I've emailed a few routes to Kris if you're interested.
Veel plezier! As they say..
