Livingston Auto Parts

Post by campbell » Wed Jul 24, 2013 1:23 am

On Stu's recommendation, I gave these guys a shot to exchange or refurb my S1 calipers.

http://www.livingstonautoparts.co.uk/

These are £300+vat new from Lotus. Each.

After a bit of confusion at the desk (the S1 rears are not properly listed on the system), we arrived at an estimated cost for ship-and-return remanufacture of £80. Each. Inc Vat.

Just explain that they are the same as VX220 or S2 rears, and all should be well.

They have been returned looking like brand new and, having been fitted by our friendly local workshop, appear to working like such as well.

Was kept well informed of progress of the work and they arrived back a day or two sooner than expected. Very professional team to deal with.

That's a mental £600 saving. Enough for a European Trackday maybe ;-)

Thats a good price. What was included in the refurb? I have a set of vx220 rear calipers sitting in the shed that are a bit past their best.

Er, they do "the lot" as I understand it.

That's about as technical as I get :-)

Look nice and shiny too. Putting fronts to shame.

im not getting anywhere with these guys.

ive sent them e-mails and had to give reg numbers then codes off the calipers.

They use a company down south called AMK to do the work and they are struggling to work out if they can do them or not.

Campbell have you had fronts and rears done? If so can you tell me if it was on an account or a cash sale?

cheers

ok I got to the bottom of the issue.

looks like Livingstone Auto's have signed up with a company called AMK to do all the refurb work. AMK are struggling to quote.

Livingstone Auto's used to use a company called Shaftec (google it)

Shaftec will not deal direct with the public, so I have used our work account to send them back to Shaftec via Dingbro.

I will let you know what the price and service is like once I get them back.

cheers

I had rears done.

Stu Pollock probably has an account there.

If they are the same as S2 or VX220 rears, just tell them it's those ;-)
