I believe the lovely blue Elise S in the showroom found a buyer this morning and there was a decent chance the red V6 Exige found one in the afternoon when I was back in to collect my car.

When I was there in the morning and again in the afternoon, Brandon was off doing test drives with the female partners and they each returned with a big smile  It was also nice (genuinely nice) when the 2 guys were asking about whether the Dealer was good or bad to be able to be a bit gushing in praise rather than in the past, have to be a bit cagey about the good bits and the not so good bits. :thumbsup

Guilty! Was nice to chat to you Renmure, picking up exige on Friday all being well. Big thanks to Brandon for his persuasive efforts in getting me into my first Lotus. Very helpful and not pushy which makes a refreshing change!
Haha... nice one. It sounded good when they reversed it back in the showroom :) 8)

Picked up the car yesterday after service and geo. Usual high standards, keep up the good work.

Had a small chat with Kevin, Shug and Elaine too.

Thanks Brandon for yesterday. :thumbsup

Another huge thumbs up from Elaine and I for Craig for the classic MMC service. :thumbsup

Knew it might be painful when Craig's first words to me on the phone when he'd had a look at the car were "So exactly how long has it been parked in the sea...?"

Combination of lack of use and it sitting in the driveway in the old house (400yds from the seaside, outdoors) meant that the steel bits had started to take it tight. It went in for a B service and a clutch, but ended up needing a raft of stuff like gearbox mount and expansion bottle mount replacement, toe link, brake pipes, heatshields, etc etc. The effing parts list came to two pages! But, given it's now garaged and might not see a lot of use over the next year or so with a new arrival on the way, Elaine decided just to go ahead and do everything on the list that Craig was suggesting. As usual, with Craig, the list was split into "this needs done" and "this will do a trip if money is tight" - keeping the customer in control of the bill at all times.

So, even with all the optional stuff getting the okay, he still managed to surprise with the bill. Gave us a realistic estimate of where it would end up and then actually delivered under that estimate.

Seriously - I know it's getting tedious - but if you, for whatever reason, are holding out on trying MMC because they are a main dealer, get yer head out of yer arse! Everyone, and I mean everyone, who I know that's gone back to using them - no matter who they've come from - have been pleasantly surprised. Yes, you can still get cheaper from some wee local garage, but I hand on heart guarantee that they can't take care of you like MMC will and I also bet that in the long run, MMC's little preventative things they do (mostly FOC) will end up saving you cash overall.

F*cking well done, yet again Craig :thumbsup

Wish they were a bit closer. Plenty in Aberdeen use them so hopefully can take down for maintenance / preventative maintenance. Decent drive from Perth when heading home anyway.

Big thanks to Murrays in Edin again

Murray now also cover Skodas.

Craig has even been spotted driving one.

Much respect to him and whichever poor Tech installed our new hifi head unit this week :thumbsup

I should add, as pointed out by Shug, the "this needs done", "this can wait", "we can be clever and package these three things together next time" methodology is very intelligent and a tangible £-saver. I feel like the dealer knows our car better than we do. It's almost like having your own race engineer. This is what keeps us going back.

Spent three hours there yesterday chatting to Craig and Brandon whilst the mechanics gave the new car the once-over before Spazz.

He gave me the car back and said that the guys were really unhappy with the state of N3 now, and had to be stopped from taking hammers to the bodywork.

I know we walk out of there happy with our bills, but that must be the first time that one of us has walked out without one at all, they could not find any fault with the car, or anything that needed renewing. Bet that it is not the same scenario if I put her back in after Spazz.

Just back from MMC, big thanks to Craig yet again. He managed to fit me in at short notice for some pre Spazz work to coincide with my visit to Edinburgh. It really is a great atmosphere there, both Craig and Brandon make you feel more like a friend than just another customer. Don't know why anyone would chose to go anywhere else for their service work.

Big thanks to Craig and his teams efforts on my S1. Popped in to have health check and basically fix anything that looking tired or needed attention. The car has came back transformed and fell totally in love with it again as it feels like new car. No idea what magic they done but never felt the car like this, every single thing feels different, steering is sharper, handling is a dream, engine sweet as a nut, clutch feels totally different and better despite not having a new clutch. Love the wee details such as disks sprayed sliver so no rust where they are on the hub etc.

Kept up to speed the whole way through, any calls or emails answered instantly, work to high standard, reasonable price, they have it sown up. No complaints from me and totally recommend to get your arse over if anyone is still in any doubt despite 30 odd pages of praise. You won't regret it and will get the most out of your lotus. I thought mine was okay until the work was complete and I took it a spin, then you realise what you have been missing.

Well, surprisingly after hearing the car failed its MOT, am in a happy mood after speaking to Craig at MMC.

Numerous things being addressed, such as shocks, springs, discs, pads, tyres, and a C service on top. Solutions for all and knowing that it will be done to MMC usual standards and costings am coming in to do a night shift, which i hate, with a smile on my face!

Thanks guys.

A few years since I posted on this thread due to my dabble with my glorified Beetle for a few years but a visit to MMC for the bigger 6th year service on the Exige this week shows things are still as good as when I last used MMC for a service around 3 or 4 years ago, and as this thread indicates.

All good - car passed MOT, all servicing explained and SE discount much appreciated with some guidance from Craig on one or two things just to keep an eye on over next year and suggestions of the most efficient way of fixing or replacing.

Whilst I have been in a few times over recent years for a look, it's refreshing to have an un pressurised mooch around a car showroom (OK, there was a light attempt to get me to look at a V6!), a relaxing chat with Brandon, the guidance and benefit of Craig's knowledge and expertise as he goes through the work undertaken, knowing the cost is as discussed and no unannounced extras or nasty surprises you often get elsewhere, and also spotting the wee touches like a sticky hazard switch freed off, without charge.

Good to catch up with both of you again, Craig and Brandon. :thumbsup

This is getting a bit predictable, and tedious, but every trip to Murrays leaves me more and more impressed. This time, Craig and the team really did provide truly outstanding customer service.

My car was booked for a bit of a cosmetic overhaul (front end minor repair and respray) and a few other small jobs around the car. There were a few issues with the respray, which delaying things a bit, and resulted in the process being a lot more involved. However, they kept to the original quote, but over and above this, they also gave me a further discount on the bill because it took longer! Who ever heard of a garage doing that!!

Finally, as part of the refresh, the car got new lights, light covers and badge. At the same time I also ordered some other parts that I planned to fit to the car, which would be delivered to Craig too, to be left in the car for me to fit. Craig very kindly, also fitted these!

We are very very lucky to have Murrays and Craig to look after us. Image

Elise parts have also been very helpful - but that's another thread!

Took the Exige down to MMC for Service and MOT. Craig was brilliant as always.

I can only agree with all that has been said before to compliment Craig ,Brandon and all the others behind the scenes at murrays ,went to take the 2-11 in for its service ,mot new tyres and geo check only to find car wouldn't start ,not a glimmer of a light on the dash panel . After a good half hour/hour of trying to get her jump started finally got her going and set of to murrays. I was hoping that the run up from stirling would give enough charge if it cut out ,got to edinburgh at rush hour and kept the revs up while in the traffic queue ,got round the hermiston gate roundabout and just about 50yds short of the traffic lights ,stalled , kev was about four cars behind in the exige and once the in between cars got passed tried to let her roll back and bump start but not enough momentum. So there was I stuck on the off ramp only about 800yds from murrays with traffic everywhere due to a One direction concert :? .
The point of this story is Craig and Brandon came up from the garage with a battery pack to get me going .
If someone can name me another garage where the service manager and head salesman will come out at 5/5.30 carrying a battery pack to walk down a motorway to get a stranded customer I will be surprised.(it would probably have taken about 45 mins. To get there by car from murrays due to traffic)
As usual service, mot, geo, tyre change and new battery all carried out to excellent high standards at a very fair price ,with Craig as always going that extra mile ,doing a few odd bits at no charge.
Well done guys .
See you in a couple of weeks on Spaz trip Craig. :D
Must owe you a couple of beers by now. :cheers
