What number are you mate - mine came through too, number 474. Dont like the size of the deposite is a bit large! (I was looking at it before I went racing) I bet a full speced CF, power pack etc will be alot.

Just buy them all

X-Bow will be well desirable me thinks, so you could buy it and sell it at little or no cost if it's not the mutts nuts that is.

Guys,
I think if you fleabayed it you would have a few people that missed out the first time willing to take your order off your hands!
Keep it though, one beautiful looking car!

Don’t know how well placed XTM are but I would be a little worried about the idea of a sizable deposit to a company I don’t know. Would be an awful pity to lose a chunk of your daft car budget to a company which goes into liquidation without ever going into production.
Might be worth trying to protect yourself. Credit card might be your friend if they take them although I think there is a limit on protection, worth checking.
Paranoid lawyer faction.

Schoomer,
Ours has come through as car no 275. The deposit is £6,900, payable at the end of this month. however the thing that is concerning me, is that the quoted price of £31k does NOT include any UK taxes, delivery or VAT. Once you add those on and a few carbon fibre bits the cost will go over the £40k mark. The price will not be guaranteed untill two months before delivery.
Good news is that there is an RHD version, bad news is that there is a choice of seat sizes, the seat is fixed, and it is the pedal box that is adjusted to suit the driver. This may prove to be a pain if you are regularly swopping drivers, as Iain and I would be.
Mr Boag and I will be having a confab over a bottle of bacardi over the next few days to see wether we are brave enough to go ahead, or wether we stick with the 340r and Elise for the time being!!!
Still looks a fab car, if not a bit Darth Vader ish!!

And how long do they have that, i.e. when do they promise delivery?

A deposit of that sizemust mean that the company needs the cash to be able to put the car into production (at 500 cars thats over £3m in deposits) - as said above, as long as your £7k is safe.
I would go for it; the first time you see on in the flesh or on the road, I`d bet you would be kicking yourself if you didnt go for it, as they look

What concerns me (as someone who is in no financial position to even think about one) is how they managed to make is so heavy compared to the aforementioned CSR and Atom.
If I'm missing something daft, feel free to call me a tw*t, as I've not really looked at it in depth.

KTM are fairly substantial motorbike manufacturer
That would make me
a lot happier but I would still check that it is the same trading company that you are writing the cheque to, not a subsidiary which they can let go if it suits them.
Probably too paranoid faction.

guy i know has an order in (hasn't been asked for a deposit yet) - i looked it up.
Dearer than a Caterham (i think i compared it to the new Superlight r400),worse power - weight ratio.
The thing that would put me off more than anything is that it took Ariel about 4 years to get the handling right on the Atom, so how are early cars from these guys going to handle ??
P.S. was down at a 7 club track day at Croft weekend before last and someone there had managed to spec a CSR260 up to £50 k

the DSG 'box must weigh a fair bit over a normal 'box?
Are the RHD numbers even more limited? There could of course be the opertunity to make a bit of money there, but you probably know that.
I'm with the JJ school of thinking, first time you see one you'll kick yourself

Having said that, it now makes the 2-11 look a bit more competitvely priced.

Don't think it's DSG, think it's a sequential mechanism for the manual box.
